Terms and conditions of sale

Dernière mise à jour : 9 August 2026

This document is a starting template. It must be reviewed and completed by legal counsel before the site goes live. Bracketed items remain to be filled in by the agency.

1. Purpose

These terms govern the sale of trips organised by NBC Discovery, a travel agency established in N'Djamena, Republic of Chad, holder of licence [number]. Any booking implies acceptance of them.

2. Booking and formation of contract

An enquiry submitted through this site is not a booking: it opens a conversation. The contract is formed on receipt of the signed booking form and the deposit.

3. Prices

Prices shown on this site are per person, in euros, based on a minimum number of participants and on economic conditions at the time of publication. They may be revised in the event of significant variation in fuel costs, taxes or exchange rates, up to [number] days before departure.

What the price includes and excludes is detailed on each itinerary page.

4. Payment

- Deposit of [percentage] % at booking. - Balance no later than [number] days before departure.

Bookings made fewer than [number] days before departure require payment in full.

5. Formalities

Each traveller is responsible for their own documents: passport valid for at least six months beyond the return date, Chadian visa, yellow fever vaccination certificate. The agency informs but does not act in the traveller's place; no refund may be claimed if boarding or entry is refused due to incomplete formalities.

6. Insurance

Insurance covering assistance, medical repatriation and medical expenses is mandatory. Given the remoteness of the areas travelled, we strongly recommend adding cancellation cover.

7. Cancellation by the traveller

Cancellation must be notified in writing. Charges retained are:

- more than [number] days before departure: [percentage] %; - between [number] and [number] days: [percentage] %; - fewer than [number] days: [percentage] %.

8. Cancellation or modification by the agency

Our trips take place in remote desert regions. Safety takes precedence over the programme. The agency may modify an itinerary, or cancel a departure, in the event of dangerous weather, deterioration of the security situation, administrative closure of an area, or force majeure.

Where we cancel other than for force majeure, the traveller is offered a postponement or a full refund of sums paid. An itinerary change decided in the field for safety reasons gives no right to compensation, the agency undertaking to provide an equivalent-quality alternative.

If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the agency may cancel the departure by informing the traveller no later than [number] days beforehand, with full refund.

9. Liability and the nature of the trips

Our itineraries involve long stages on unmade tracks, camping without hotel comfort, and being several days from any medical facility. The traveller declares they are aware of these conditions and in good health. They undertake to follow the instructions of the accompanying team.

The agency accepts no liability for harm resulting from failure to follow those instructions, or from individual initiative taken against the guide's advice.

10. Respect for sites and people

The traveller undertakes not to damage the sites visited. In particular it is strictly forbidden to wet rock paintings to revive their colours — the practice destroys them irreversibly — or to use flash on painted panels. Any photograph of a person requires their prior consent.

11. Complaints and disputes

Complaints must be sent in writing within thirty days of return, to [email address]. Failing amicable settlement, disputes fall to the competent courts of N'Djamena, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection provisions in the traveller's country of residence.
